1992 Fleer Baseball Cards

The 1992 Fleer Baseball Cards set was a 720-card set. For the first time ever, the previous year's World Series champion would NOT lead off the base set. Rather, the set was ordered alphabetically by player within each team, for each League, with the American League preceding National League. (e.g. the Baltimore Orioles led off the set, followed by the Boston Red Sox, and concluding with the San Francisco Giants.) This was done to ensure that 1992 Fleer Baseball Cards would be available as soon as the new year began. There were five subsets plus Checklist cards (714-720).

In an effort to keep pace with card design advancements at the time, Fleer improved the quality of cards in its flagship set by using metallic inks on both sides of the card and a smoother card stock. The design also reflected the popular use of teal as a color at the time.
